Welcome to the Microprocessor Report Library CD ROM.

This ReadMe file contains the latest installation and licensing information for the Microprocessor Report Library CD ROM. The CD ROM is compatible with Macintosh, Windows and UNIX systems.

Be sure to read the license agreement at the end of this document before using the product.

Contents of the CD ROM

  1. The file Start.pdf is the "front door" to the indexing system. Open this file to automatically launch the index and begin a search.

  2. The file Tips.pdf is an Adobe Acrobat file containing handy tips for making the best use of the CD ROM.

  3. Macintosh, Windows and UNIX installers for 'Acrobat Reader with Search' are in the Install directory. You must install the appropriate Acrobat Reader with Search on your local hard drive to make full use of this product.

Installation Instructions

YOU MUST USE ADOBE ACROBAT READER 3.0 WITH SEARCH OR LATER.
FOR BEST RESULTS, ACROBAT 4.0 WITH SEARCH IS HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

The CD ROM includes Adobe Acrobat Reader 4.0 with Search installers for Macintosh PPC and Windows 95 and up. For Macintosh 68K and Windows 3.1 systems you must use Acrobat Reader 3.0 with Search. For the most current Acrobat Reader documentation, see Adobe's site, www.adobe.com.

If the CD ROM search function appears not to work, the most likely cause is that you are not using a version of Acrobat Reader that includes the Search Plug In. You should install a search-enabled version of Acrobat Reader either from this CD ROM or from the Adobe Website. There is no charge for this download. If you choose to download an installer from the Web, be sure to select the "Include Search" option.

Technical Support for the CD ROM is available at 408-328-3900 on weekdays from 9:00am to 5:00pm PST.
